The Randox Grand National was won by Nick Rockett after taking place on Saturday afternoon, with millions across the globe tuning in to watch the prestigious race.
Aintree Racecourse hosted the most famous steeplechase in the world that will see 34 horses jump 30 fences as they gallop four miles and 2½ furlongs towards the finish line. The winner, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick, bagged the grand prize, which is £500,000.
The field, which was reduced from 40 last year, remained smalled as part of a number of changes which were introduced ahead of the 2024 race in order to improve safety for horses and jockeys.
Defending champion I Am Maximus finished in second place, with 16 horses finishing in total.
Among those who fell were Broadway Boy and Celebre D'Allen who were being assessed on the track for some time following the race. Their condition is unknown.

Updates on Broadway Boy and Celebre D'Allen issued by Grand National bosses
Both horses that were being assessed on course after falling at the Grand National have been able to return to stables, authorities have said.
Two horses - Broadway Boy and Celebre D'Allen - were being assessed on course after suffering horrific falls during the race, with screens erected around the animals. The racing at Aintree was delayed as a result.
At around 5.10pm, bosses said Celebre D’Allen had walked onto the horse ambulance and would return to the stables for further assessment. Broadway Boy was still being assessed on course with its jockey, Tom Bellamy, taken to hospital at that time, they said.
But just before 5.20pm, a Jockey Club spokesperson said Broadway Boy had also been able to return to the stables.

Grand National 2025 horses that fell and did not finish the race - full list
There were 34 horses racing today, but not all of them finished the race.
A number of horses either fell at one of the fences, unseated their jockey or failed to reach the finish line.
Ahead of the race there had already been one horse death during the festival. Willy De Houelle, which was ridden by Rachel Blackmore, died on Thursday afternoon after taking a tumble during the second race of the opening day.
Last year, a number of changes were put in place to try and reduce the number of fallers and other incidents at the races.
You can see the full list of horses that didn't finish the Grand National this year here.

Patrick's victory comes after previous Mullins wins
Patrick is the latest in a long line of Mullins family members who have won the Grand National.
His cousins David and Emmet have previously won the race - David as a jockey with Rule The World and Emmet as a trainer with Noble Yeats.
Speaking after his win, Patrick said: “David and Emmet have already won it so I’m level with them, so (cousin) Danny will have to pull his finger out now.”

Sir Alex Ferguson's horse riding in big Aintree race
The runners and riders for the 2025 Grand National have been confirmed, and Sir Alex Ferguson has an interest in the race once more. The legendary football manager has watched his horses chase glory at Aintree in the past, and this year is no exception.
Ferguson didn't have a runner in 2024, but that has changed this time. He is a part owner of Hitman, a Paul Nicholls-trained horse which will be ridden by Freddie Gingell at Aintree.
The former Manchester United boss also has horses in some of the day's earlier and later races. Monmiral is running for him in the William Hill Top Price Guarantee Handicap Hurdle at 1.20pm, while L'Eau Du Sud runs at 5pm in the Rosconn Group Maghull Novices' Chase.
Hitman is not among the favourites to win the Grand National this year. The horse has odds of 28/1 at the time of writing, while I Am Maximus is the 6/1 favourite after winning in 2024.
Ferguson has been in attendance at Aintree on plenty of occasions in the past. Back in 2022, he enjoyed a trio of wins at the famous racecourse on Grand National day, albeit not in the big one.
Monmiral was one of those three winners. The horse, which he shares with John Hales, was an odds-on favourite for the second race of the day at Aintree in 2021, and responsible second of those three wins.
Protektorat, a 17-2 shot, got Ferguson off to a winning start. Things got even better when Monmiral followed suit and then Clan Des Obeaux came out on top in the Betway Bowl.

Grand National 2025 prize money and how much the winner receives
The Grand National is one of the richest and most rewarding horse races in the world, with an eye-watering £1 million total prize pot.
Around £500,000 of that goes to the winner on the day, while the rest of the pot is split up as follows:
- Second place – £200,000
- Third place – £100,000
- Fourth place – £65,000
- Fifth place – £40,000
- Sixth place – £30,000
- Seventh place – £20,000
- Eight place – £ 15,000
- Ninth place – £10,000
- Tenth place – £5000
Jockeys receive a percentage of the winnings, and the breaking down of how much they make is quite complicated.
The salary of a jockey is different depending on what race they are involved in and on how many places bookies are paying out.
Generally, jockeys will receive around eight per cent of the advertised prize money and around two to three per cent of the place prize money.
With a £350k difference between finishing first and second, the stakes are high for those saddling up shortly before 4pm.

Who are the frontrunners?
Ahead of the race defending champion I Am Maximus, ridden by Paul Townend, is among the favourites. The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old was a seven-and-a-half-length winner last year.
Also heavily backed are Iroko, Stumptown and Hewick.
They will be among the riders and owners hoping to win the grand prize of half a million pounds.
