Diamond Microdermabrasion Experience
Diamond microdermabrasion kit is common in beauty schools. Therefore, it is popular within the spa industry. We have built our Nue Skin Microdermabrasion machines to accommodate various types of modalities including diamond microdermabrasion tips.
Due to the rise of upcoming students in the esthetic industry, we wanted to add a diamond microdermabrasion kit to our machines. There are different abrasive diamond tips for the face and body. However, review the grit of each diamond tip before treating an area.
Every diamond microdermabrasion kit has 2 stainless steel hand pieces and nine diamond tips for either face and/or body. It is easy to select a tip by reviewing recommendations on the packaging. All suggestions and information are included with purchase.
Take advantage of incorporating treatment versatility, whether using aluminum oxide, organic grains or a diamond tip 9 piece system there is something for every skin.
Aluminum oxide crystals and diamond tips are very different. Performing a crystal microdermabrasion treatment, there is a disposable tip that is for one time use and then discarded. Never sanitize a disposable tip, it is one time use.
When using diamond tip 9 piece system, it is important to take strict steps to sanitize and disinfect before performing a diamond microdermabrasion treatment on a client.
Diamond Dermabrasion Tips
There are certain diamond tips that are better than others. It depends on the right selection.
It is recommended to change the diamond tip to the various thickness of the skin during a microdermabrasion treatment.
Difference is in the TIPS
- D120 or D180: Body Diamond Grit, especially knee, elbow areas and stretch marks after pregnancy
- D180 or D240: Face Diamond Grit, for larger facial areas
- D120, D180, D240: Scars, fine lines, wrinkles or other skin imperfections
- D200: Infra-orbital, supra-orbital (eye area), be careful not to use directly on thin eye tissue. It is meant to be used on the eye bone and in the nasal area
- D240: Infra-orbital and supra-orbital (eye area) and nasal area. Smooths wrinkles, fine lines or surface pigment discolorations
Diamond microdermabrasion treatments are not recommended for active acne, skin that may be compromised due to open lesions or other possible skin contraindications.
The 2 stainless steel wands are used with 9 interchangeable diamond tips. Use disposable cotton filters to trap any residue or debris from the exfoliation process.
Each cotton filter is for one time use and must be replaced after each diamond microdermabrasion treatment. Cotton filters are never washed or sanitized, only one time use.
Sanitation is the KEY
Please use the state recommended sanitation training along with reviewing OSHA standards for customer health safety.
- Setup a sink area for sanitation only, do not allow food, drink or anything that would be considered unsafe for humans or animals. Prevents cross contamination
- Always wear gloves when handling objects that have come in contact with skin
- May use a toothbrush for a scrubbing tool and use antibacterial soap for a pre-cleanse to the diamond tip. Scrub thoroughly and rinse
- Use Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% to sanitize and disinfect diamond tips. You may use a stainless steel tray and soak the tips in the Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% for a least 15-20 minutes
- It is important to store diamond tips in UV sanitize blue light equipment. Use the light for at least 20 minutes before using diamond tips on a client
This is the proper way to make sure your clients never have to worry about an unsafe diamond microdermabrasion treatment.
Be prepared to allow enough time after a microdermabrasion treatment or before another treatment to sanitize and disinfect a spa treatment room properly.
Contact your state licensed cosmetology board for additional details regarding sanitation and proper disposable operating procedures.
